Dublin Today & my own Rare Oul' Times

Hola,

Had the chance to recently walk around Dublin for a day, and what a great city it really is -- especially around Christmastime.

And there's still some old parts off the beaten touristy tracks that bring some some wonderful, personal memories.

Don't know why my eye was caught with the square inscription, but it was... Why is it so high up there, I wondered?

Like something out of War of the Worlds, the new Children's Hospital is under construction

The other special relationship remains strong!

The General Post Office on O'Connell Street.

The Mansion House

Christchurch Cathedral

The Coombe Hospital where I was born, (ah, God love 'im)

Used to buy and get me bikes repaired here

The back of my old school, which is still open, apparently more so on this day!

Ah yes, the square quote... now I have to find out where it comes from!!

Hi Mark - so glad you had time at home ... and to see Dublin in various guises. The square plaque ... memoir of the 1940s ... All the best for 2020 - cheers Hilary

Glad you got to spend Christmas there. Looks festive!

Christmas at home is always a good thing to enjoy. Seemed to be a lot of emphasis on the pub, and Guiness!!

Guinness in a tanker truck, not something you see over here everyday

I love your travelogues- pictures of the real place, not the tourist place. Now, I do have a couple of things: Second and less important, "Lost balloon"? First though, I couldn't help but notice that the only crowd in any of the shots was around Victoria's Secret...

What happened to your Words for Wednesday post? It popped up in my reader and I got all excited to see what you had done with your own very challenging prompts. Consider a pouty face being levelled in your direction.

@EC: Lol!! Don't be pouty :) I've decided that the gentlemanly thing to do is *not* participate in WfW when I'm the one posting. I don't want to have an advantage over anyone else - even if I can't remember the damn words!!

See, this post is a great example of why I would miss your photos if you stopped posting them. Just wanted you to know! :)
