As always, a huge thanks to Alex J. Cavanaugh, founder of IWSG and stark defender of some watery, old group called SLUSH.
This month is a pretty easy – at least when it comes to insecurities.
My first book, REVIVAL: The Donald Braswell Story, comes out in 12 weeks (or 90 sleeps) and everything seems to be going well [insert “…” and/or scary music here].

I’m a little nervous, but looking forward to holding the book in my hands for the first time.
I’m sure nothing will go wrong, but it could, and if it does, what does that mean?
Luckily, I have a great publisher [insert quick plug: Pen-L Publishing, of Fayetteville, AR] and if Duke isn’t stressed, why should I be stressed?
Deep breath… deep breath… oh dear, people are wandering by me (seat provided, in part, by Starbucks, LLC) and they’re probably wondering if I’m in labor.
I can’t be in labor, but my baby will be delivered by E-section (and paperback) November 3, so I could be suffering phantom pregnancy symptoms.
(OK, I’ve been munching a ton of Tabasco-laced Blueberry Bliss Gogurts and, please, keep all meat away from me, but the new, black yoga pants that I bought at Kohl’s, using my 30% coupon -- and my $10 Kohl's Cash® -- are very comfortable... so apart from the many run-on sentences, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.
Gosh, what’s that smell??)
So, yeah, no insecurities here this month. Phew.
(Why am I sweating so much?)

No, you're doing just fine! :)
Congratulations, you'll be surprised at how easy it all goes! Yeah, calm him down with a good fib. No, just kidding, relax and have a ball!
Haha... I'm so glad you are so chilled out and relaxed, ahead of your pending e-birth ;)
Congrats Mark!! I'm sure it will all go super swimmingly :)
Breathing goes better if you exhale as well. Blue is not a good facial colour for many of us.
I am sooooo looking forward to getting my hands/eyes/brain into your book. The excerpts you featured in the A to Z were a wonderful teaser - but I wan't more.
Deep breaths. You can do this. :-)
Relax! Just do everything you can to prepare for the release, and what doesn't get done, just doesn't get done.
LOL Mark! E-section indeed. Congrats!! Some advice - start preparing your promo folder now to line up your plans to promote the book. Once the weeks slim down, the fever pitch sets in. BREATHE! You'll do fine!
Tis the smell of panic, me boy. Calm down!
E-section. LOL I'd love to see that.
(More like colon-E-scopy. hahaha)
Mark: I want my epidural at eight!
Me: Eight centimeters?
Mark: No. Eight months!
:P
IWSG #119 until Alex culls the list again.
How exciting! Congrats. I'm sure it will go great.

You made it so, Mark. Revival is definitely on its way, This calls for a celebration with some saurian brandy.
It's not like your counting the days or anything. By next month maybe you can give us an hourly countdown. And those yoga pants are really comfy.

Deep breath. This is going to be one of the biggest rushes of your life. I'm excited for you!
I understand you anxiety. Anything new causes me to get queasy and moody. But, remember. to take those deep breaths,
Despite all the work that goes into a book, it's always terrifying to watch it go out to the public. I blogged about that when my first book was released, and someone (who no longer visits me) said rather crabbily, "Isn't that why you wrote the book?"
She made me feel ashamed to be nervous. Until I found out that other authors go through the same thing. Her comment was just sour grapes, and a couple years later I noticed that she self-published her own book and Tweeted about her nervousness.
I refrained from making comment. ;)
Anyway, it is perfectly normal to be anxious. That's your baby, tottering out into the world!
Good luck and hang in there. Everything will turn out wonderfully. :)
Alex said it, what doesn't get done, doesn't get done. Relax, have a snifter or two, breathe out and stop worrying. From what I also read at the A to Z this is a good book and should go very well.
Take deep breaths, Mark. You put your heart and soul into this book. It's your baby, and it's normal to be nervous (I freak over story entries, never mind a book).
You know we're here for you and got your back. Whatever you need, just say the word. Love you, Dude. Hugs.
Hey Mark,
I think it's down to about 88 sleeps, my good buddy. Keep embracing that realistic, positive anticipation that all is going to be awesome.
Have a great weekend, Mark aka Sir Mazza! :)

12 weeks! Good luck with all the pre-launch stuff. Congratulations!!
Great that you have something to look forward to. By the end of the year, you'd be officially a published author. Woot woot!
