Today is Alex’s Underrated Treasures blogfest.
Everyone has a favorite movie or
band that no one else has ever heard about. For whatever reason, they remain
undiscovered and underrated. Now is your chance to tell the world about this
obscure treasure!
Post about
your favorite unknown – MOVIE – BAND/ARTIST – TV SHOW – BOOKPost about one or all four – dealer’s choice!
###
I’m going with all four, (sadly
there is no Hawaiian Hula Attire For Men section.)
To keep it real, y’all, one of my
answers is, gasp, not real! It’s a Red Lemming.
Can you guess which one is the
colorful cliff-jumper? :)
Movie: Traffic
(Powerful movie shows how drugs do so much so evil, so quickly…)
Band: Rick Astley
(Never Going to Give You Up? … Anyone? :)
TV Show: Luther (Available on
Netflix. Alice should be in chains :)
Thanks, Alex and happy Blogfest everyone.
PS: Gotta dash to Gary’s blog… can’t wait…I’m sure he’s been on
pins and needles waiting for his post to go live :)

Love the movie and the book. I'll have to check out the others.
Alice is in Chains. Oh wait, that's a band from Seattle.
Really glad I didn't ask for underrated hula attire for men...
These are great choices!!! Traffic is a great movie!
Oh, Traffic - yes, very powerful. Some of the scenes are still so vivid in my mind.
I'm gonna guess Rick Astley is the Red Lemming - he's the exact opposite of underrated, hehe (but I admit that I love that song & think he's totes adorbs).
"Yesssss." *in the voice of, '...there is no Dana only Zool...'*
My copy is coffee-stained, dog-earred, and slightly mutilated. It sits beside The Emotion Thesaurus also coffee-stained, etc.
And *arm pump* Rick Astley is on my exercise MP3 player. Not coffee-stained however.
Thanks for sharing your picks for the Underrated Treasures Blogfest. I have the book by Stephen King.
Hasn't everyone been Rick-rolled at this point? I actually really liked that song when I was little...don't tell anyone...
I've started catching up on Luther. It's just my kind of show.
Loved ON WRITING by King. Loved IT. ;) Great pun fun.
Rick Astley makes me giggle. Nothing like Rick-Rolling your friends. :)
My guess is RA is not real... LOL!
Saw Traffic too. Agree. Next time I do this I'm doing my links like you did. So much easier!
Hi Mark - I wanted to see Traffic, Rick Astley is 'ok' ... Luther and Stephen - yes I'll go for those ...
Glad you couldn't find the Hawaiian Hula Attire for Men ..
cheers Hilary
Ha! Luther is the lemming. :P
You know that Rick Astley is a you tube hit called... well watch this and you will see. It's a real thing I am telling you.

I've seen Luther before. It's a great show and I love the cast. Excellent choice!
Traffic is a very good movie!
Have heard about the book and the movie. Will have to read the book now.
What? No grass-skirt-swirling luaus today? You made up for it by tossing in a Benicio Del Toro flick:)
Cheers!

A Treasure Trove of Music
If you want to read a picture book about the drug world (yes, it's a picture book), check out The House That Crack Built.
I remember seeing Rick Astley on VH1 all the time back in the day.
Thanks for sharing your picks, Mark.
Ah Rick Astley, much remembered in my household, daughter thought him great.
Greetings Mazza!
I know you speak more than one language, my esteemed buddy n'stuff.
Blogfest, more like Bollocksfest! :)
Rick Astley lives about 30 miles north of me. I shall send him to your place!
Gazza, the man covered in boxes.
I hadn't heard of any except On Writing. Very exciting :)
Great book pick! I keep meaning to watch both Traffic and Luther . . . someday. :)
Rick Astley - nice one! I think... I've been rick-rolled by his song a few or twenty times...
I actually tried to read "On Writing" by Stephen King once, but I couldn't get past his ego to read more than one chapter. Yes, things work definitely for different writers and he annoyed me to no end, lol.
Hola Mark! It's me, lilicasplace... remember. Lily-Eva, or Eva for the forgetful. :)
Great blogfest choices. I like how you kept it simple with the links. Loved Traffic, have On Writing, not familiar with Luther.
Disappointed that you're not modeling any specialty mens hula attire. Hugs.
I loved On Writing. I's had it sitting on my shelf for the longest time before starting reading it. I don't know why I waited so long.
The bad thing is it makes me think if I ever get to the stage of being a successful published writer, my memoir is going to be so boring. Perhaps that's good though, because parts of his life were not very good. :)
Hahaha!!! Love the Gary shout out… laughing…
And man, so you're saying I need to go check out this show on Netflix, eh??? *runs*
I bet it would be way more entertaining sitting in between you and Liz with a bowl of popcorn. :)
Huge Stephen King fan here. Teachers have actually started recommending King's book on writing in workshops. I needed to visit your blog just to get this reminder to get my butt in gear and purchase that book. Fun post; full of energy! Glad I stopped by from Underrated Treasures.
I don't think anyone could seriously put Rick Astley on this list! Although he did have some very nice suits, and a great quiff! I STILL want to read On Writing!
Your book one... the pun.... ha ha ha. Nice.
