You may have heard that American journalist James Foley (40) was beheaded by Islamic State terrorists Tuesday.
I've called myself a journalist in the past, but what I did compared to the risks Mr. Foley took to do his job is like comparing apples and oranges.
I'm also posting these pictures of Mr. Foley, which I believe is how he would want to be remembered, and not how millions saw him in his final moments...

I can't even imagine how freaky that experience would be--for both him and those he left behind. Silent words and prayers...
I was horrified that CNN posted photos of him moments from death ~ THANK YOU for showing James Foley doing what he loved instead. How much longer is the world going to stand by and allow monstrous groups like ISIS and Boko haram to blaze a trail of death and hatred across the world?
Thanks for those tribute pictures, Mark. A journalist friend of mine was friends with him and posted a long memorial post along with more pictures on Facebook this morning.

There is no way for civilized people to understand the animals who have done this. Prayers to the family.
That was so tragic. He was a daring man. Such a loss.
Sad and almost incomprehensibly bad.
This is incredibly sad news, and I hope his family will eventually find comfort.

Sending prayers and love to his family and friends. He was a fellow Marquette alum and wrote a powerful letter for the university's magazine a few years ago that has stuck with me.

Thanks for posting this Mark. As they say...all it takes for evil to prosper is for good people to do nothing. RIP James Foley.
It's so much better to remember him this way than those horrible photos before his death. I just don't understand the cruelty, the madness of ISIS.
