You Know You're A Parent When... #18 (The Pictures...)

Aloha,

It's been a while since my ongoing "You Know You're A Parent" series last cleared waivers, but our three little minions have been hard at work.

Thus, here we go again!

###

You know you're a parent when....

...You notice a water fountain in the park isn't working quite the way it was designed...

So, instead of warning your darling, wee innocent children, you let this happen...

Papa: "Wow, I didn't know *that* was going to happen, son"... CLICK!! :)

...however, as you giggle, laugh and say, "Do it again! Do it again" while thinking you are the funniest parent evah... you suddenly remember...

There are no spare clothes in the Papamobile.

Oh.

###

...You ask No.3 Son if he wants his passie, not knowing he already had one in his hands.

The results leave you a little in awe of his early signs of over-achieving...

I wonder... did Walter White use these as a toddler?

###

...You are visiting the Bishop Museum in Honolulu.

While in the midst of all this beautifully preserved history that represents, in part, the people and places of Hawaii, you ask the three sons to please just stand still.

For. Just. One. Stinking. Photo.

[#CultureFail]

Please? One picture? C'mon. Just one? Ah, forgetaboutit... CLICK!! :)

###

... You are walking the neighborhood with several sons.

No. 2 Son is on your shoulders and asks, "What's that?"

When you peek nonchalantly in the back of the truck, you are instantly grateful that no non-family members are around (you don't ever want to squeal in that high-pitched tone again - not even for a book launch :)

For a moment, I thought it was my old friend, Manny Quinn... (what?)
###

... and finally, you know you're a parent when the pants are alllllll the way over in the other side of the room and you decide it's ok for a pirate to keep his sword in his Pull-Ups :)

Pants? Cap'n NoBeard don't need no pants!!

Have a great weekend, and remember... be careful out there... they may find their way back home!!!

I admit I did a double-take at the contents of that truck. Oh my. Oh my. Oh my.

Now I know what Pull Ups are for... to store things like swords and toys. Got it.

Pull ups should come with sheaths. Would makes everyone's life so much easier.

I miss my kiddos being little. So much fun. Enjoy every crazy minute of it.

I, too, have those pictures of faulty fountains or other things and used it for a photo op, lol! You see the world thru a different lens when you're a parent and notice things that you wouldn't normally.

I do thank you for the laughter this morning.

Done the fountain thing. Sadly, the sword thing looks familiar.

Hahaha, been missing this so much. You never fail to make me laugh. The keep still for one picture it's a experience I just had with my nephew. Result, same as yours. :) DRagon hugs!

Of course it is ok to stash a sword in your pull-ups. A pirate has to be prepared. For anything.
Much like a parent.

The standing still for photos thing, I totally get. It's a rare treasure when I can get pictures of both kids standing or sitting still for the camera...Because of their constant movements, my husband and I actually find that taking short videos of them might sometimes be more worthwhile.

You have great kids. And a great attitude towards them.

What pull-up would be considered complete without a Sword?!?! :)

You sir have incredible adventures. I wonder if the drinking fountain at my local park does that ... :)

Hats off, Mark! Those pics are priceless and, haven't you heard, all the great pirates wear pull-ups.

How lucky you had the camera with on that first one. I always miss those moments. And I'd be yelling, do it again, do it again, too. :)

Hi alleged human, Mark,

I can so relate to this pawsting. Well especially the part where you go to take a photo and the kids decide it's a great moment to move. I do that all the time.

Great news about yet another one of my adoring fans, Melissa.

Enjoy your week ahead, my illustrious human friend.

Penny! :)

Haha!! Love this! As a mother of five boys, I totally get it! Especially not sitting still for a picture! And what kid doesn't put a sword down his diaper...I mean, where else is he going to put it! :)

Thanks for making me laugh....Again.
