Memorial Day - Arlington Cemetery pictures...

I'm bringing the three boys to Arlington later today... but wanted to remind myself of the hallowed grounds that is our Nation's Cemetery.

Each of these headstones represents so much...

None of these pictures are mine, but they each speak a thousand words that should end with "...hug your veteran for all he/she is worth."

So much pain and pride in those neat rows. How I wish it was a historical oddity rather than a past, current and future reality.

No words for what all those headstones represent. Except that we are blessed to have our freedom because of those men and women.

Never been to Arlington, but I have seen all the graveyards in France which are beautifully maintained by the French as a memorial to those who fell in World War 1 and 2. It is a very moving experience to see all these stones in regimented rows.

The pictures are so heartbreaking. God bless them.

There is a National Cemetary in a town about 20 miles north of us. But, I have never been there. I might have to remedy this oversight.

So true. Thank you for sharing these. We should all remember those who "fought" on the "home front" as well, those, who lost their brave soldiers...

Thank you so much for writing such a poignant blog to honor our fallen heroes who have sacrificed their lives defending our freedom.
