Oh, How I Miss You BlogFest...

Aloha,

Today is the “How I Miss You BlogFest.”

Hosted by Andrew Leon, Matthew MacNish and that Alex guy.
Here’s the premise:

Do you have a couple blogger buddies who aren’t posting as often? Those who’ve pulled back and seem absent from the blogging world? Do you have blogger buddies you are grateful they are still around and would miss if they vanished? Now is your chance to show your appreciation and spotlight them!

On November 16, list one to three bloggers you really miss and one to three bloggers you would miss if they stopped blogging. Then go leave a comment on those blogs.

Our blogger friends are special – time to let them know!

As a simple guy, not given to outburstings of emotional posts or cries, (kids, leave the bleedin' poor butterfly/dog/mailman/stranger alone!!!)  I am going to keep this simple:

The three people I miss are:

Daina Rustin over at Mystic Treehouse (Daina was the one of the first Bloggers to follow me who was NOT a friend or family member – and I will always appreciate her “followship” :)

Saran Pearson over at Empty White Pages (Sarah and I shared many a funny comment “back in the early days” and I miss her humor and insight.)

Rachael Harrie over at Rach Writes… (Rach is still around, but has taken a break from her Writer’s Platform-Building Campaign.

(I don’t blame her one little bit, because she gives her heart and soul to each of her Campaigns and does so out a selfless desire to pay it forward.)

(Put it to you this way, if no-hyperlink-needed Alex ever had a Blogging Sister, her name would be Rachael Harrie.)

Oh, there is one person I would love never to see again… am I allowed to say that?

This "kind" person sends me a LOT of wonderful links to various websites, and while I don’t need a new Coach bag, a cheap alternative to Cialis, (or any another colored pills,) this blogger keeps on trying – ahhh, God love him.
I am, of course, talking about our mutual friend, A. Non Ymous (I think he’s a Finn, or French, or he may be Flemish.)

So, dear A. Non, if you’re out there, do feel free to stop emailing me – 'cos if you do, I promise to send you a can of Hawaii’s favorite foods:

PS. Sorry, but I’m not going to publicly list the three Bloggers I would miss the most...

WUSS!!!
Whatever.

Ha! Ha! you’re going to be the star of the new movie: “WUSS in Boots.”

Ssshhhh now.

You’re such a Wuss that yo Mamma helps you fight out of a wet paper bag.

Can you just let me finish this, please?

Oh. OK. Sorry.

Thanks.

(whispers……....... Wusssss!!!)

Anyway, I can’t write a list of who I’d miss, but you know who you are – and I thank you for your continued friendship, wisdom and support.

PS… Hope to see everyone Monday as THE BIG REVEAL goes live at 6:01 EST J

Several people have mentioned Sarah, hope she's able to come back soon. And Rachael is awesome, loved being able to participate in her platform building campaign last Feb. And you're not a wuss, wet paper bags are tough I tell ya!

Visited from the blogfest. Love that added the spam guy. So funny. Wish I was a wuss too, but it's too late for me, my picks are out there. I am your newest follower.

Cheater!!! You and your can of spam.
I do miss Sarah. Said she was taking a break, but it's been a long time...

Sarah was top of my list, I was really starting to get to know her and I do miss her and hope she is okay!

Yes, Rachel Harrie, now why did I not add her name to my list! She is utterly awesome! The platform building campaign certainly did open doors for me!

Muh ah ah aha ah.

You think you can bribe me with Spam? I am French and would never degrade myself by eating that poor excuse of a food.

You send me a fresh baguette, some delectable stinky cheese, and some crème brulée, and then we'll talk.

I'll be in touch.

Happy Spam Free Friday!

"and that Alex guy" <- ha!

Susan Oloier said...

I love your plea to A Non! Hopefully, he's such a devoted follower that he'll listen.

Morgan said...

LOL!

You are TOO FUNNY, Mark.

And I remember Sarah! I had forgotten about her! Yes, she needs to come back--she had a GREAT blog.

Melanie said...

Awww...what a sweet idea. I hope they all get to see this post!

Sheena-kay Graham said...

Now I'm more curious about who you'd miss than the reveal on Monday. Darn it Mark!

Ella said...

Funny with the spam...lol

I know I couldn't do it, either...
Fun to read Mark :D

Emily R. King said...

I miss Sarah too! I keep hoping she'll suddenly come back, but alas, she hasn't so far.

Have a great weekend, Mark!

L. Diane Wolfe said...

No one wants the spam.

Tyrean Martinson said...

Yeah, the I would miss you list is an umanageable one - it would be too long if I listed them all.
Have a great weekend!

cleemckenzie said...

Now you see wussiness has a direct correlation to Spam eating. There's scientific proof.

I know I'd miss your blog, but I wouldn't miss any of the Spam stuff.

Aloha!

I think most of us would agree with your opinion of Anonymous. I wish this person or entity would find some more productive activity to engage in.

I'm a wuss too, although I did mention that needs-no-hyperlink guy.
A. Non. visits me quite frequently as well. Not that he gets past my first comment moderation. :)

Cassie Mae said...

Oh Sara! I miss her too! And I think I offended A. Non. because he never comes around... Oh no wait, I just blocked him from my blog. :)

Julie Luek said...

Bahh on those A.Non. posters. Can't wait for your BIG fest.

Michael Offutt, Speculative Fiction Author said...

FANTASTIC choices. Rach just flat out burned out, and I loved Sarah Pearson. I suspect the same with her...burnout.

David P. King said...

I wouldn't miss SPAM either. Not in the least. I need to do a better job and promoting our blogfest, huh? I'll get on that as soon as I finish this hop. It's good to be back! :)

Teresa Coltrin@Journaling Woman said...

How funny you are. Great choices.

Nancy Thompson said...

Oh, yeah, I miss Rach, too! An I get a lot of spam from A Non myself. Finally had to set my commenting restrictions to registered bloggers only this week. That did the trick!

Stephen Tremp said...

These ladies are a blast from the past. I remember them well.

Matthew MacNish said...

Funny that you didn't link to Alex. Because seriously, if you're a blogger, and you don't know who Alex is, you might as well just give up, because you're not doing it right.

Michael Di Gesu said...

Hey, Mark...

I thought of the same three people.... Funny, although I didn't list them... WHY? Maybe I'm a WUSS too!

BUT your WUSSINESS is okay for not mentioning who you'd miss.... EVERYONE!!!!!

Scribbles From Jenn said...

Visiting from the blogfest and everyone is right, you ARE funny!

Tamara said...

I am shocked that you cheated and didn't list your three!! haha

I listed way more than three, so I cheated too. ;)

Can't wait to see the big reveal on Monday. Sorry i haven't been around very often. I've been trying to do Nano. :)

(kinda failing on that front, but at least I love the new story idea I got from it)

Livia said...

Um, dude, I'll be here on Nov. 19 for the big reveal! I'll be racing to your blog with my heart racing to see the big SURPRISE! Bring it on Madman Mark!

Of course, expect me, to sign up because ah, oh yes, awesome folks hosting it! Count me in! :)

Sherry Ellis said...

I like how you included their pictures! Empty White Pages is a great blog!

Sarah was on my list, too. It's sad that she isn't blogging anymore.

Tara Tyler said...

i thought of rach too, she is so great with the campaigns!

and you hawaiians and your spam!

Elizabeth Seckman said...

Got the Spam + Hawaii trivial pursuit question tonight...and I got it right. Thank ya brother!

(I didn't list three would be misses wither, not that I am a wuss...I totally forget the rules as I write my blog posts in a hurry!)

Ciara said...

Rach gave a lot to writers. I've been a member of her campaign a few times. She's awesome!

Joylene Nowell Butler said...

I'm seriously happy not to be getting any spam, and I'm equally thrilled to have 3 new bloggers to check out. You, my fine fellow, are too kewl.

Claire Hennessy said...

Ha! I listed Rachael Harrie too AND I totally agree with Mr Anon. Give him spam! Love it.

So, I think this blogfest may have been the kick up the **** I needed.

Thank you Mark, you made my day x

Crack You Whip said...

It is so hard to keep up in the day to day blogging world with just the business of life. I'm struggling myself, but am thrilled to check out these bloggers.

Are you counter-spamming with spam? Ahhh...

Annalisa Crawford said...

Sarah was one of the first bloggers I connected with too. Glad to see she's commented just above me :-)

Libby said...

Your early followers are always dear to your heart. They believed before anyone else!

Sabrina A. Fish said...

You are definitely one I would miss, Mark! You crack me up. Way to call out that annoying A.Non. That booger is so annoying.

I can't wait to see the big reveal. I MUST remember to go by Alex's blog tomorrow. Feel free to send me a reminder tomorrow. *wink*

Nicole said...

Rachel Harrie definitely has a huge (and wonderful) presence in the blogosphere.

Can't wait until the big reveal!

I miss Sarah, too.

Agree about Rachael. I don't know how she does it!

LOL - love the SPAM. My dad still eats that (sliced and fried) on a sandwich from time to time.

Wuss. :P
